More Initiations

Srila Bhakti Asraya Keshava Maharaja arrived on Wednesday 7th and the devotees enjoyed having his inspiring devotional association on the days leading up to the initiations. Saturday 10th was initiation day and the Hawkes Bay devotee community was blessed to witness the initiation ceremony of two great souls, Richard Prabhu and John Prabhu. The initiation ceremony was held at the home temple of Krishna kirtan Prabhu and Madhurya Lila Devi Dasi, and their two children, Keshava Prabhu and Shyama priya Devi Dasi.

The ceremony started with kirtan, then followed a nice talk by Srila Keshava Maharaja on the significance of the ceremony and the glories of our beloved and respected Masters. Richard Prabhu was named Abhimanyu Prabhu, a name for the son of Arjuna. John Prabhu was given the name Jayananda Prabhu which is a name of the Lord and means victorious bliss.

Afterwards all the devotees enjoyed another nice kirtan, followed with beautiful prasadam cooked by the devotees for the Lord which included two subji's and halava with ice cream.
